Just Announced: QBCC Freezes Licence Fees

Every year, Queensland builders and tradespeople brace themselves for the annual increase in Government fees and charges.

Historically, these fees rise on July 1st, reflecting legislative requirements and indexation. However, 2024 brings a welcomed and significant change.

This year, QBCC licence fees will be frozen at their current levels for the entire financial year. This freeze is set to provide much-needed relief to many, easing cost-of-living pressures across the state.

From July 1, 2024, QBCC licence fees will remain at their current levels for one year and reviewed again come 1 July 2025. This decision to freeze the fees aims to ease costs to Queenslanders, particularly those in the construction and building industry.

At Construction Licensing we too are going to get behind QBCC’s lead and freeze our consulting fees during 2024.  Let’s hope other State and Territory licensing authorities follow suit.
